[He knows he's going to get scolded by Prince Aether. He knows and he doesn't really care, that other knight really had it coming.

He'd had a little spat with one of the other knights in the keep, a little disagreement over dinner, at least that's what Childe would have called it. In reality, he'd started the fight, running his mouth and delighting at the visceral anger he'd caused the other knight. A few words were exchanged, a bone from a finished chicken wing was flung at the other, and that's all it took before he was showing off his martial prowess in front of the rest of the keep. The guy got one good blow in before he'd beaten him unconscious, having to be pulled off of him before he went too far. No alcohol needed for that mess of course, since he reveled in making scenes like that.

And he never regretted it, at least when it came to his reputation. Which, of course, wasn't great. He'd always had a chaotic side and people steered clear of him because of it. But those people really aren't the kind he'd hang out with anyhow. He had his own agenda, and if he's being honest, no one could keep up with him.

He's trying to get back to his own quarters now, a nasty cut right across his eyebrow where he'd gotten punched. He swears the other must of had a ring on or something, a knuckle shouldn't of made a cut that big. But it hurt, and he has to constantly wipe the blood away or else it would trickle down into his eye. He's a bit preoccupied with making sure he can see that he doesn't see Prince Aether round the corner and begin to walk towards him.

When he removes his hand from his face, there's blood all over it, and still some that bubbles up and pools in his eyebrow again.

That's when he spots the other. Drat, he's in for it now...]

[He can't help but grin slightly when Childe declares his will to fight back. Aether expected nothing less from him.

And yet the knight still lets the prince shower him with affection, responding with soft moans and content sounds, his body leaning into touches. Aether feels like he's in daze and there's so much more he wants to give his lover. There's still so many places left to caress and to kiss.

Once Childe's hands are free, the prince doesn't resist when he's dragged along towards the headrest. The tunic is then quickly gone and they're locked in a kiss, sweet, warm and deep. The prince melts into it, hands wrapping around the other, fingers brushing his now bare back.

When they part, Aether sighs, eyes closed, head pressing to his lover's shoulder. Waves of warmth rush through his entire body and he smiles. He feels so drunk... drunk on love, drunk on happiness. He tightens the embrace around the knight, then lets go and lays down on his back, head resting on the many soft pillows.

His eyes are slightly dazed when he reaches out to tug Childe into his arms, to make the knight lay on top of him now. The smile on his face is bright and loving.

And this is only the beginning. This moment, this night... is only the start of happiness that awaits them.]

[For the moment that Aether leans into his shoulder, he holds the prince in his arms, his hand coming to run through the other's hair. The strands easily slip through his fingers, Childe looking down lovingly at the prince. It doesn't seem as if they were of two different social standings here, the closeness of their relationship sweeping that away in this moment in time.

The knight willingly gets tugged downward onto the prince, laughing at the drunkenness in his eyes, so easy for him to see as he looks down upon him. Childe feels very much the same, having been able to taste Aether's love on his tongue, wanting more.

And he's all too willing to indulge, dipping down to kiss Aether again, greedy and needy as usual. He feels a great satisfaction knowing that the prince was his and no one else's, and that he could drink him in freely like this- may that never end.]

You know, [he says, mischievously as his hand starts to wander down the prince's side,] I'd like to pick up where we left off earlier, if you don't mind.

[He moans softly in the kiss, body arching upwards to feel the other as close as it's possible. The touch of bare skin against his own is electrifying. Just how could anyone ever possibly feel better than now?

But then Childe speaks again and Aether finds himself trembling at the thought alone.]

...I'm all yours. [He responds breathless, shifting to put his hands over Childe's cheeks and place a kiss to his forehead. It's like a silent vow of eternal love and devotion. Some would call those feelings naive, but Aether doesn't care.

In this very moment, his entire being wishes to be by Childe's side for as long as humanly possible and the thought that it could ever change is unfathomable to him.

He smiles softly, letting a shaky sigh, his eyes showing endless trust.]

Go on.

Haha, [he laughs softly as his eyes flash,] I'll make sure you don't regret your decision, Aether.

[Shifting, Childe takes advantage of his height, sitting up on his knees but still having enough room to lean forward to capture Aether in a deep, intoxicating kiss. His hands move down to the prince's belt, feeling how the fabric had raised beneath his ministrations, releasing it and breaking his kis to begin kissing down Aether's chest downwards, not stopping until he reaches his destination.

Childe aims to keep his promise, and delights in all the wonderful noises he procures from the prince, drinking in how he responds to him, ensuring that there will never be anyone or anything that could make him feel this way.

The knight finds himself lying on his back once more, having finished with the night's activities, at least he thought so. It's growing late, and he's viscerally aware of this- and if he's caught here, that won't look good. He kisses the side of Aether's head, sighing with content, but yet seeming a little sad at the same time.]

I hope all your wishes were fulfilled tonight. I know I couldn't of asked for better myself.

[He sits up, looking at the door, wishing it didn't exist.]

[Every kiss and touch causes heat to bloom in his body as he's slowly drowning in pleasure. He's never felt like this before, but there's only one person he would ever allow this close. There could never be anyone else. They continue on, with Aether trying his best to make sure his knight is satisfied and feels loved... If only this night could never end!

But then it's all over. The prince lays down, face flush red, eyes closed. He's tired, but happy and satisfied, ready to just sink into the warmth by his side and let sleep overtake him.

Childe presses a kiss to the side of his head, getting a soft, content sigh from the prince. But the moment his lover sits up, Aether's eyes open wide. At first he's confused, before looking to the door and back to his knight. Without thinking he reaches for Childe's hand.]

You're... not planning to leave, are you?

[There's a frown on his face and he knows, he knows all too well that Childe should not be seen here, but he doesn't want to let go of him. He wants to spend this night - entire night with him by his side. He wants to feel him close and wake up to his warmth. It's selfish, he knows. It's foolish, he's aware of that.

...And yet he still doesn't let go, eyes almost pleading.]

[Oh, now that isn't fair at all.

Childe turns to look at Aether when he graps his hand, surprise first donning on his features, then warmth and a soft laugh that he can't help but let out at the look on Aether's face. Isn't that the puppy dog look, he wonders if the prince learned it from him, since Childe has been known to weaponize that same look on the prince before. He must really be more careful than to let others learn his techniques, it seems, since it works like a charm on him.

Childe leans back in, cupping Aether's cheek in his hand, as he presses his forehead against his, eyes closing.]

It's not as if I'd like to. You know I'd stay here all night if I could.

[Pulling back, he tilts his head to the side questioningly.]

But if your father catches wind of this, I'm not sure what kind of position that will put me in.

[Aether closes his eyes and leans into the touch easily. He soaks into the closeness that Childe offers him, but when he opens his eyes again, there's a lot of sadness in his expression.]

I... I know.

[He knows all of that, but it's so difficult to let go. The prince catches his knight's hand again and presses it close to his heart.]

But I'll think of something. I won't let anyone find out about this.

[There have to be ways to do this, even if he'll have to resolve to many, many lies.]

[A long sigh is breathed out of his nose, as his hand is pressed to the prince's heart. He knows this is a bad idea, and that he should leave before he presses his luck farther than he already has. But he also can't tell him no, settling himself back up against the headboard, his arms reaching to pull Aether into his side.]

Just make sure you're making a promise you can keep, [he warns. It's not as if Aether doesn't know the possible consequences, but he's just reminding him, this is Childe's life that is in peril.]

I understand you've been starved of my touch for far too long, but I do think I must go. Or are you ordering me to stay?

[That mischievous glint shines in his eyes, wondering what the prince will say to that.]

[Once Childe settles back, Aether quickly presses himself close to his knight.]

Either I'll keep you alive or I'll die with you. There are no other options.

[Right now he's absolutely ready to risk his own life to be with his lover. The comment about being starved of the other's touch makes Aether blush, though. He didn't realize he was this desperate... But Childe is absolutely right. He needs him so badly at his side, especially now.

How selfish, how foolish. Yet, he still can't help it.]

That's exactly it. [He answers, a small pout on his face as notices the shine in Childe's eyes.] I'm your prince and I order you to stay.

Well then. I suppose I can't disobey my prince, now can I?

[If he wills it to be so, then that's what Childe will adhere to. His hand comes up to hold Aether's chin between his finger, staring into his eyes for a moment, a storm of chaos brewing in them even now in the dark of night.

The kiss he captures him in again is heady, mesmerizing, confident. Childe presses in, mouth opening to let his tongue dance with Aether's, a smile on his lips as he does so. The knight takes his time, letting his other hand sweep down around Aether's side, holding him tightly to him.

When he breaks, eyes heavily lidded as he gazes back at the prince.]

You didn't say how long I had to stay. I'll have to wear you out so I can sneak out undetected, haha.

[Ranks and social standings have no meaning now and the fact that Aether so eagerly uses his status as the prince is only to show how determined he is to keep Childe here with him. He doesn't get to say anything else, easily pulled into a kiss. His body presses closer, fingers tangling into the knight's ginger hair.

Aether can't get enough of kisses. Perhaps it's just the matter of them learning each other and gaining more experience, because each kiss feels so much better than the previous one. Aether sighs content, mind still in daze after they part.

The words hit him right into the heart though. Again, he finds himself frowning at the thought alone, but this time he's more willing to compromise.]

This moment would be perfect... if only I knew that I'd wake to see you by my side in the morning.

[He closes his eyes for a moment, giving in on that idea. Perhaps one day that dream will be able to come true, but it doesn't seem like it'll be anytime soon.]

If you can't stay here the whole night... at least nap with me for a few hours? And wake me up when you'll be leaving.

[He can already imagine how much his heart would sink if Childe sneaked out on him during the night.]

[He knows that the prince desperately doesn't want him to go, and there's a part of him that feels like it's being tugged down into the bed, under the covers. He knows it's a bad idea, but at the same time, his mind drifts to waking up next to his lover in the morning. It would be nice, and he longs for it, wishes for it.

Childe lets go of the prince, sliding down and letting the blankets envelop his body, his head resting now on the pillow. The bed was truly made for royalty, not even his mattress was nearly as nice.]

Come, lay with me.

[He doesn't answer the prince's question, only seeking his warmth and closeness, his arm extended upward and out so Aether could slide in against his chest.]

Let's not think too heavily on my departure right now. Just be with me in this moment, so I can etch it into my memory.

[Relief washes over him upon seeing Childe settle into the covers. Aether is quick to respond to his knight's request, sliding in and getting comfortable, so that his head would rest on the other's chest. He can hear Childe's heartbeat, feel his warmth enveloping him.]

...I wish for the same. [He whispers.

Slowly, he grabs onto the covers and wraps them around the two of them. His eyes close afterwards as he nuzzles into his lover. He holds him close, wishing so badly that they could always be like this.

His breath evens out and soon Aether finds himself drifting into sleep.]

[Sunlight streams through the window, hitting the eyes of the knight first- he can see Aether pressed up against him, and he smiles softly at the sight. He has to rub his eyes to clear the bleariness and sleep from them, sighing softly as reality sets in that he'd woken up to an unfamiliar ceiling. Childe had never left in the night, not being able to separate himself from the warmth and comfort of Aether's presence.

He idly wonders if it would be nicer to let the prince wake on his own or to nudge him awake now. It's probably already far too late to make a sneaky exit, but he's sure he'll figure something out.]

Aether...

[He sing-songs quietly to the sleeping prince, deciding that it may be better to wake him anyhow.]

Hey there, are you awake...

[Childe's hand runs through the golden locks of hair, smiling at him as he does so. He doesn't seem like a prince or anything of the sort right now, just existing as his loving partner, peacefully sleeping against him.]

[He stirs, awaken by the gentle voice by his side. The warmth is welcoming and there's so much peace in his heart now. It takes him an extra moment to process what happened last night and that he's not dreaming. A soft smile appears on his face as the prince nuzzles lazily into his lover's side.

Eventually he opens his eyes with a soft, but content sigh.]

Good morning...?

[He looks to the window to make sure that it's really the morning. To think that Childe actually stayed the night with him...

Realizing that, Aether's eyes widen.]

C-Childe... I'm sorry, I was so selfish yesterday.

[A worried frown settles on his face, as the prince looks at his knight. Sneaking out right now we'll be very difficult, but hopefully they can think of something. Aether can't believe he endangered his lover just to have his way. He really was nothing but selfish yesterday.]

Hahaha, it's quite alright.

[The knight presses a soft kiss to his prince's forehead, shifting to prop his head up with his hand as he lays on his side. Aether looks nearly angelic to him in the bright sunlight that dances off of his hair, and he can't help but smile at the sight.]

There's really no need to apologize. I wanted to stay as badly as you wanted me to. Besides...

[Childe's hand reaches to play with Aether's hair, letting the strands intertwine in his fingers.]

...I think it was well worth it, don't you?

[He shifts to also lay on his side, still close and letting Childe's warmth seep into him. His eyes soften at the kiss and the words. His knight's smile feels like everything Aether would ever need in life, especially now in the light of the morning. It's beautiful and endlessly charming, so much so, that the prince stares a little in awe.

Everything feels like a dream or like one those fairytales told to children before sleep. Except it's unmistakably real, tangible. Aether reaches out and he can feel warmth of Childe's skin beneath his fingertips. His hand goes up, until it reaches the cheek, pushes away so unruly strands of ginger hair and marvels at his lover.]

It was worth everything.

[Just for this moment alone, to have Childe next to him, playing with his hair, smiling at him... it's worth paying any price. Aether can't even imagine there ever will be a moment in his life more beautiful and tender than right now.]

[His eyes close as Aether pushes some of his hair to the side, opening them once more in a slow blink as he stares back. Childe's eyes soften at the prince's touch, as they wander over Aether's features, appreciating the cut of his jaw and the soft rosiness of his cheeks. It's a moment in time he wishes would never end, but he also knows the duties of the day still call for him despite his needs and desires.]

Well, we're about to find out if it was, aren't we? I've got to come up with a plan to sneak back to my room and get ready for the day. You'll help me out, right?

[Childe says expectantly, because he remembers a certain someone saying he'd die with him if he gets caught. Not that he thinks it needs to be so dramatic, but he may need help.]

What time do your servants begin to knock at your doors? Maybe we still have a little time to ourselves.

[He says slyly, moving his head inward to kiss the inside of Aether's neck slowly, as if he's ready for round two.]

[They're in this together, so there's no hesitation in Aether. And yet he doesn't give a straightforward answer, mildly amused that his lover even needs a confirmation.]

Are you expecting me to say "no"? [He chuckles.] Of course I'll do everything I can to help.

[Because Childe is his life, his entire world. The prince will be forever dramatic about it. The other question is left unanswered for now, as Aether feels lips against his neck. His breath hitches, body reacting so easily to Childe's affection as the prince tangles their legs and presses close. His hands brush his lover's hair in slow, almost lazy manner and Aether tilts his head to the side, offering more of his neck.]

I... I'm not sure. Maybe... we still have an hour?

[He doesn't really want to think about it. He can imagine his own embarrassment when his servants see him or his bed. They will know for sure what happened here. But what's done is done. Aether wants nothing else but to savour the time he and his knight have left. He will treasure every second that Childe is willing to give him and he wishes for nothing else but to give his knight everything he has in return.]

[There's no way he won't take that opportunity, laving open-mouthed kisses to more of Aether's neck, desire beginning to pool in his stomach again as it did the night before. The hand in his hair is soothing, eliciting soft murmurs of content against the soft skin, finally lifting his head up in a dreamy gaze.]

An hour is plenty of time.

[Childe presses himself against Aether, greedily taking the prince in as he sinks into another lip lock, letting his tongue dance freely with the other's. The knight wants to drink from the prince as much as he can before he has to go, letting a haze of euphoria take over his senses and a heat build in his core.

This moment is still part of the time he'd longed for, and it's not like him to use it completely to his advantage- so he'll savor in Aether's presence, in his kisses, and everything else until he's forced to part.

[He moans softly as Childe leaves more and more kisses against his skin. His body is slowly burning with passion again, trembling softly at every contact, every press, every touch of skin against skin. It's electrifying.

An hour is plenty of time, his lover says, and Aether wants to reply that he wishes they had more than that, but any complains are drowned when their lips lock in a tender kiss. It's almost natural at this point, with the way their tongues glide against one another. And yet it still strikes him to the core and makes his heart thump loudly in his chest.

Aether lets his hands slide down, first to the shoulders, then down the chest, tracing lazy patterns into the skin. When their kiss breaks, he's quick to lower his head and press his lips over the other's heart, before moving on to other parts of his knight's chest. There's no hesitation, no embarrassment. His kisses are driven with passion and love, and the prince is not afraid to show how much he wants to his lover to enjoy every moment.]

[The covers are thrown over them as Childe grabs a hold of the fabric, lifting it up so they are unseen unless one got close to the bed. It feels almost secretive this way, how Aether's kisses to his chest are hidden from the rest of the world, getting away with something that would surely be his demise if anyone were to find them. Small hums and content noises spill out of the knight, eager to let him do what he wants with his body.

But he wants for even more than that, and while Aether is busy attending to his skin, Childe is reaching to massage something further down. It's easy to find, and the knights eyes flash playfully, wanting to draw out those delicious moans and whimpers from the prince.

So much so that he doesn't realize there's a soft knock at the door, not once but twice, as a nervous squire waits outside for someone to answer. Luke shuffles back and forth, before gulping and opening the door, his concern overpowering how much trouble he could get in for barging into a royal quarters unannounced. But Childe hadn't come back the night before, and he's worried...and the only person he can think of who might know where his knight is is the prince himself.

He slips inside, gazing about the room as he closes the door quietly behind him. There doesn't seem to be anyone in here, and he steps further in to marvel at how nice it was, before he notices...

...movement on the bed...

Luke lets out an involuntary gasp, loud enough that Childe's ears perk up and his stomach drops from underneath him. He stops his ministrations immediately, his mind freezing. They've been caught, he's a dead man. The only saving grace is that he's still under the covers, and perhaps they can play it off like it's Elise...or something. Anything.]

[The covers are a nice touch, hiding them from the world and Aether can't help but smile at that. He happily continues on with kisses, letting a surprised gasp when Childe touches him. He wants to laugh or say a snarky comment that his partner is impatient, but then again, the prince is enjoying every moment of this and he makes sure his lover knows. The moans that bubble inside him are much quieter now, almost breathless, but he doesn't hold them back.

He never hears anything, the moment is just for the two of them, until they're pulled apart, until they have to face the day ahead. That's exactly why the sudden noise shakes him to the core. His eyes widen, he doesn't dare to move, stunned. Maybe they could pretend that they're not here, but he's well aware that it won't work at all.

An agonizing moment later, Aether decides to peek from under the covers to check who interrupted them. The face he sees is familiar, but that doesn't make him feel any better.]

L-Luke...!

[He wants to die so badly now. His cheeks are burning bright from shame.]

[The moment Aether says Luke's name, Childe immediately collapses with relief under the covers. He's so thankful that's who's decided to interrupt them that he doesn't even get angry, knowing that it could have been so much worse. His face burns bright red, but at the very least he knows he's not going to die today, at least not from this.]

I'm so terribly sorry your highness! Sir Childe is being sought out for training this morning, and I thought to come here first given he didn't come back last night. I couldn't bear the thought of if someone were to find you before me...is he here?

[Luke looks genuinely apologetic, his hands and arms stiffly at his side, bowing to Aether as if the prince might rain punishment down on him for such a rude intrusion. Though Luke has asked if Childe is there, it's without a doubt to him that the other lump under the covers is the knight he's looking for.

Childe pokes his head out from the covers, his expression a mess of previously terrified now relieved yet completely embarrassed all at the same time. He laughs nervously, scratching his face with his finger as he looks over to his squire.]

Y-Yes, I'm here. How late am I?

About two hours, [Luke explains, urgency in his eyes.]

Tell them I'll be along shortly, if you could? It seems I've...hm...overslept.

[Luke nods, hurrying out of the room, and Childe groans. Two hours...]

[Aether doesn't say another word, waiting for the squire to leave the room, before he wraps himself tight in the covers and curls on the bed. Even his face is hidden as the prince laments over this embarrassment.]

I can't believe this...

[They left the door unlocked, he didn't let Childe leave and now Luke found them. If this was anyone else they would've paid dearly for this mistake!

Peeking out from the covers, Aether gives Childe a worried look.]

You should go... and we need to make sure none of this happens again.

[He presses his cheek into the mattress. The bliss he felt before is now completely gone, replaces with dread creeping in his stomach. They just keep being found out over and over. Just yesterday Aether's father almost caught them kissing and now this. They really need to think things through before they do anything else.]
