how could i ever forget // outside the morning was cool and wet
[It's not often Ajax finds himself getting his head slammed down onto the hood of a car, least of all a cop car. Usually it's him doing the slamming.
But today the young man finds himself denting the hood, the sound of metal caving in under his head ringing in his ears. Not exactly the ideal situation he was hoping for, but he figured sooner or later he'd have a run in with the cops due to the sensitive nature of his profession, but that doesn't mean he has to like how inconsiderate they are with him as they cuff him and throw him in the back of the paddy wagon. Not that he was considerate to them when he was discovered, as evidenced by the blood all over his clothing and knuckles from the fight he'd gotten into with them. How he managed to avoid getting shot is beyond him- plenty of shots were fired, but that hadn't stopped him from knocking a few of them out.
It's just too bad he'd been instructed that he couldn't kill anyone, or else he'd of gotten out of there without being caught.
The lights of the police station are bright, almost too bright from the contrast of how dark it was outside. Ajax squints as he's dragged inside, held tightly by two cops who hurry him through the station, but not fast enough that he doesn't catch a glimpse of the secretary behind the desk as they come in. Pretty, blonde, looking like she'd rather be anywhere else. Gorgeous eyes, ones that catch his attention almost immediately as he's being shoved towards the back, shining with a radiance that captures him instantly. His eyes lock with hers, feeling something silent yet powerful surge through him from this tiny, insignificant interaction. He doesn't even have a moment to think further on it, before he's so rudely interrupted.
Get moving.
The curt voice of the bigger cop on his right cuts through the moment, anger welling up in Ajax's chest and something dark stirs in his core. If he wasn't cuffed and being restrained, he'd turn that guy's face into a new work of art, something so abstract some insane art collector would gladly pay millions for it.
No sooner had Ajax been ushered in, he disappears from sight as he's taken back into an interrogation room, the mysterious blonde no longer in his sights, now getting shoved into a corner of a room.]
What's with this? Don't you even have the courtesy of giving me a chair to sit in, at least?
[From outside of the room, muffled noises of a scuffle as the cops lay into Ajax can be heard, the loudest of which is a thud of a body slamming into a wall, accompanied by a groan from the ginger kid. Though little do any of them know, their real problems haven't arrived just yet, waking from their slumber right outside of the city...]

Her concerns further diminish as soon as she feels the warmth of his hand tangled up with hers. They might have met through abnormal circumstances but something about a simple gesture as holding hands makes her feel like she's right at home. She laces her fingers in between his, beaming at his suggestion to go on a date.
But first things first, Ajax brings up the elephant in the room that's been nagging her all day. ]
That's been on my mind too. Despite that I... well, you're definitely the best partner I've ever had in bed, I haven't had that insatiable appetite to have sex with you all day.
[ This should be seen as a win and Yoimiya is grateful their urges seemed to have finally died down. But there's something about this whole scenario that's a little suspicious. ]
Kind of strange, ain't it? Especially considering how hard we went at it yesterday, haha.
no subject
Well, our urges were solely to impregnate you, so unless we actually succeeded in that...
[Not what he wants for sure, and there's the question of what exactly he did to her yesterday that made her entire lower abdomen glow with that abyssal power.]
...perhaps we'll see if you miss your next period, just in case. If you do, we can figure out things from there. Until then, let's not worry about it and accept this small blessing that we've been given. I definitely like having sex with you too, but the degree of how obsessed we became because of it was unsettling, and I'm glad we haven't experienced it today.
[Ajax makes himself sound like there's no urgency in the matter, because she was on birth control anyway and there's a good chance nothing came of their sex session the day before. But it does nag at the back of his mind that something happened that might of changed things when he cummed inside of her. He was so sure of himself before that he could get her pregnant, birth control or not.]
That only leaves the matter of what we'll do when we get back. Honestly, it's been so hectic that I haven't even thought about what kind of leisure activities I'd want to do. A movie? Board games? I don't think I've played a board game since I saw my siblings last.
no subject
She can't get the image of her stomach glowing out of her mind. And not to mention, what was up with that strange dream? She's heard about moms having conception dreams before finding out they are pregnant. A crying baby, a crib, all of it sounds like the telltale signs of a conception dream.
But before she gets all doom and gloom, Ajax is right, they shouldn't worry and take advantage of this moment of peace. ]
Board game sounds great! It's been a while since I played one. I don't have any at the house, so we can stop at the nearby toy store and see their selections.
[ Another idea comes to mind. ]
Are you familiar with video games? I do have a Switch and I think Super Smash Brothers would be right up your ally.
no subject
Well, my siblings have some video games, but it wasn't something I've ever been big on. I'd be willing to give them a shot, though. I've heard of that game before, it's a fighting game, yes? Sounds like it would be right up my alley.
[He thinks that Teucer might even have it himself, but he can't remember.]
So, why not. You can teach me the ropes, and see if I'm any good at it.
no subject
You look like a fast learner! By the time I'm done with ya, you'll be an expert at fighting games. And when you go home, you can impress your siblings with your skills.
[ Wait till his siblings introduce him to Mario Party, he's gonna have a great time. :') ]
Then that settles it! Tonight can can be a game date. We can take a quick peek at the toy store for any board games and finish off the night with Super Smash bros.
no subject
[Though he has to raise an eyebrow at her- making him an expert at fighting games? Not that he doesn't think he has the capability of learning, that means that Yoimiya must think she's pretty good at them to say that...]
Though, you make quite the boast there- saying you'll make me an expert. Does that mean that I'm speaking to a world-class Smash player?
[Somehow, he highly doubts it!]
no subject
[ She won't confirm or deny anything for the time being. It's more fun to let him figure out on his own. The best part is letting his imagination run wild on whatever his headcanon is. ]
Let's head out, then! Was there are certain board game you wanted to look into?
no subject
Hmmm, no, though I'd prefer to stay away from ones that would normally take hours on hours to complete. So no Duopoly- that game will take forever, especially considering there's only two players.
[He'll get too tired in the first hour. She'll win by default by him snoozing on the couch.]
Other than that, I'm game for anything.
no subject
No-go on Duopoly, then! I think that game is liable to drive me nuts too. I'd almost rather play Genius Invocation TCG.
[ And Archons knows we don't need Yoimiya playing that, she gets way too competitive... and might even hide an elemental dice when Ajax isn't looking LOL.
With that out of the way, they hop back into Ajax's car, driving off to the nearest toy store to pick up a board game of their choosing. Of course, Yoimiya couldn't resist picking up toys for a few sweet kids she's friends with back home. It's hard not to be mesmerized by the Clockwork Meka lego set! She'd almost be tempted to put it together herself if it wasn't a gift for Iwao.
After a fruitful trip, they finally return to her place. Yoimiya already has pizza ordered for their date night, all they need to do is wait for its arrival. Like clockwork, the first thing Yoimiya does is burst through the door and make a beeline for Hanabi's tank, grabbing the box of fish flakes to give her all the food to her heart's content. ]
Hello Hanabi! We are home. I'm sorry we keep leaving you behind, I promise we'll pay extra special attention to you for the rest of the evening. [ She turns to Ajax with her arms on her hips. ] Won't we Ajax?
[ Clearly the fish looks so bothered as she swims around in her glorious tank. Look at that sad face on her beady eyes.... ]
no subject
He pulls himself out of it just in time for Yoimiya to turn to him and address him, getting him to sigh with a tired smile. He's not buying that look Hanabi, he knows that's how she always looks! His eyes flick to the fish and back to Yoimiya, swinging around the side of the couch to sit down on it.]
We sure will. Nothing but the best for Hanabi.
[Hopefully that's a good enough answer for Yoimiya, even if the enthusiasm in his voice is fake af and he knows that they're going to ignore the fish most of the night ^^]
no subject
You could at least PRETEND to be enthusiastic. It's no wonder why Hanabi doesn't like you.
[ Hanabi's concerns are completely valid. Rude guy refusing to show respect to the queen. HOW DARE HE! She HMPHS and stomps off to the kitchen to grab a few bottles of wine for their date night. ]
no subject
Oh? I thought Hanabi loved me-! She told me herself!
[And waits for Yoimiya's return, unbagging the board game they bought together and eyeing the Switch that's hooked up to her TV. He's sort of itching to play it first, before breaking into a board game...he wants to fight Yoimiya, even if it's in a video game.]
no subject
[ something something pot calling the kettle black.
Yoimiya's voice is so loud that even Hanabi looks over in her servant's direction, confused and annoyed at all the disturbances. Eventually, she stomps back with two bottles of cherry wine, plopping down next to him with a huff. ]
That's it. I'm absolutely kicking your butt on Hanabi's behalf!
[ She feels the need to curbstomp this guy to the ground rising. And without further delay, the game gets loaded into the switch. ]
no subject
Enjoy the first few victories, because after I learn how to play, you'll never win again.
[He pours them both a glass of wine, sliding her cup in front of her and hoping she doesn't get so mad that she ends up spilling it all over her coffee table somehow. He grabs the controller meant for him, looking up at the title screen once before fiddling with the controller a bit.]
But, you have to be fair about this! You need to teach me what does what, or your wins will be nothing but hollow victories. You wouldn't want that, would you?
no subject
Yeah, yeah. First thing you want to do is pick a character. Some of them can move fast while others are more slow but hit hard. So it depends on your taste in fighters.
[ Naturally, Yoimiya picks the pink, round creature known as Kirby! ]
The name of the one I picked is Kirby. And don't underestimate it's cute appearance! This lil guy is tough.
no subject
He looks pretty squishy, if you ask me.
[Like a little puffball, or a piece of candy or gum. Something you could chew up and spit out easily, but then he wouldn't be a character in the game if he were that easy to beat, right?]
I'll choose...this one.
[Something he views as equally as squishy. A yellow electric mouse.]
I think I've heard of this character before! It's Pikachu, right?
no subject
[ Ajax strikes her as the type of guy to pick someone cool like Link, Marth, or Samus. Guess you truly can't make assumptions about someone until you get tobl know them.
With their fighters chosen, Yoimiya hits randomize for the stage and of course, the computer sends them to Zelda's castle for their first battle. Of course it would. ]
So for a quick rundown on the buttons, a is for attack, b us for special attack, you jump with x and y, shield with z, grab with left and right, and taunt with the direction pad! The goal is to knock each other off the platform until our lives are depleted. Special items also drop here and there and eventually, after you get so many hits in, you'll be able to do your ultimate smash attack.
[ Got all that??? ]
no subject
He sits ready, looking at the screen and seeing that they're both on a pretty cool looking stage. He's all fired up to go, when she starts giving him the breakdown, and then:]
Uhhhhmmmm...
[That was a lot of information, and his face looks as dumb as his brain when it comes to this kind of thing.]
I get that you want to hit people off the platform, but as for the rest of it...
[He presses a few buttons on the controller. Okay, he jumps with that, he can attack with that. Yep. Okay.]
Maybe starting a little slow is in order, you know, so I can get a feel for the controls.
no subject
Then we can make this a practice round for you to get used to controls. Watch me closely.
[ She controls Kirby to walk straight up to Pikachu and PUNCH him. ]
See that? That's what you call a normal attack.
no subject
I see...you said this other button does attacks too, right?
[Instead of waiting for an answer though, he presses it expecting an attack, but Pikachu just jumps instead.]
Oh...whoops. Guess I got them mixed up.
[Unbeknownst to him, that mix up will happen a lot to him loool]
no subject
Sort of. He kind of jumped instead of attacked there, oops. Looks like they might be here a while but that's okay! They have all night to try and beat each other up. Besides, this is a welcome change of pace from monster attacks and insatiable appetites for sex. It's nice to finally just spend some wholesome time with him. ]
Hahaha, that's the jump button! Don't sweat it, that's why we're calling this a practice round to get you started. Take all the time you need to get used to the buttons.
[ To demonstrate, Yoimiya presses a button for Kirby to suck up and inhale Pikachu. Before Ajax gets weirded out (or still is idk), the pink creature spits him out with a Pikachu hat sitting on top of its head. ]
Press B to do your special attack! Everyone has a move that's unique to them, Kirby's happens to be sucking in opponents and mimicking their powers. Like so...
[ SUDDENLY, Kirby is shooting thunderbolts. What is this creature???? ]
Pikachu's special attack is really similar to that! He shoots lightning too.
no subject
That's a thought that doesn't last long. Pikachu gets spit back out and suddenly her character is doing his special move, apparently...]
Which button is that?
[He starts pressing the other buttons, quickly finding the special attack button. Little lightning bolts shoot out and arc across the stage, and Ajax finally gets it. This button to do non-electric attack, this button to do electric attacks. Jump button. It's all coming together.]
Oh, okay. Is there any combos? You know, like in the arcades when you have to move and press buttons in a certain order to do a special move. You know what I'm talking about, right?
[Ajax sets his joycons down in his lap to move his hands into a hadouken pose- the only thing he knows from pop culture...]
no subject
But before she can fantasize about her victory, she's met with the sight of Ajax doing the most silly hand gesture she's seen out of him. She can't believe it, he's actually doing the hadouken. Archons above please help her, because she's totally going to lose her shit from laughing so hard. ]
Hahahaha!! I can picture an energy blast shooting out of you at this very moment. Oh my gosh...this is the best day ever, I got to see Ajax do the hadouken.
[ Goodness, why does he look and sound like a boomer? Yoimiya figures he's not that much older than she is but still, he sounds like a guy who would say How do you do, fellow kids? as he attempts to fit in with the video game crowd.
She wipes away the tears that formed behind her eyes from laughing so hard. Eventually, she finally settles down enough to explain combos. ]
Yes! There are combos. If you hold down the A button, you'll do a series of consecutive jabs. The rest of the combos are done by pressing a or b and the directional pad at the same time. So for example, if you press A while your character is running, you'll do a dash attack. You can also do attacks while in the air, all you have to do is press A and move the left stick in various directions to perform certain attacks like forward aerial, up aerial, down aerial, and back aerial.
no subject
[Is it really that funny? Ajax frowns as she laughs at him. He's seen videos on the internet of people doing silly poses and such like this. Maybe it's just because it's him and he's so out of the loop on the matter that it must be funny...or maybe he did it wrong? She seems to understand what he's doing, not realizing that he totally looks like a boomer.
He sighs in defeat, choosing instead to try to listen to what Yoimiya has to say while she answers his question. That's still a lot, but when he looks down at the joycons while she explains, it makes sense. He can pick a direction and hit a button...seems simple enough.]
Alright, I think I get it. If I keep asking questions, I might find myself being made fun of more than playing.
[And to that, he presses his special button a few times to zap Kirby and add that percentage up on the bottom of the screen. Ajax turns to her, proud of himself.]
Shouldn't let your guard down.
no subject
Kirby's percentage is rising a little too high for her liking. This might be a practice round but her pride is at stake, especially not when he looks way too proud of himself for his own good.
As luck would have it, her savior drops from the sky, in the form of a white paper fan. ]
Oh yeah? You better take your own advice.
[ She controls Kirby to float up in the air to grab the fan. As soon as she gets ahold of it, her character dashes down to give Pikachu a good smack. ]
Here's another tip for you, newbie. Try to grab items as they fall from they sky, they can be a game changer.
