Your lack of familiarity with the Abyss is telling- there's no way a person unaffected by the Abyss, or being otherworldly otherwise, would be able to have a weapon like that. But, despite this, you're its current owner. Learning to use it might alleviate the distant feeling you have with it, and maybe you'll learn something new.
