To not only get to express his true feelings but to have them returned in kind is more than he could ever have hoped for, and he's happy. He knew his best buddy would be skittish at best about being with another guy, and he doesn't take it as an insult that Yosuke is so appalled at being even potentially called on it. He knows it's not a slight against him personally or anything like that. It's just how Yosuke is.
