[With her help, Ajax is on his feet and terrified out of his mind, but at the same time he feels something within him coil and set, ready to take on this unwelcome guest that just tried to drag him underwater to his death. It's fast too, as it blocks their way out, looming over them menacingly. This can't be happening again, not so soon. He was sure that they'd gone somewhere that wouldn't be easily found, and he's not even sure if it was already here or if they were followed. But these are thoughts he can't spend any more time on, now that they're faced with what might be certain death if they don't figure out how to deal with this monster. With Yoimiya's powers being as weak as they were and the fact that he can't use his at all makes the situation even worse.
Plus, he's not ready to face that thing within him. It looms over his own soul, skittering in his veins and begging for release. There's no good way out of this, and he's frantically trying to think of a way to fight it when Yoimiya does the most unexpected, yet expected thing she can do.
Picks her backpack up, and unceremoniously throws it right at their opponent while screaming at it.
Ajax instinctively grabs her immediately, just in the nick of time to pull her out of the aim of the monster, rushing past them both in a blur that sends a jolt of fear through his system. It's so fast. The thing turns and repositions itself for another run, screeching as it comes at them both. Ajax is left again, to do nothing other than dodge, launching them both backward and landing squarely on his back.]
