[ How's she feeling? The faint buzzing in her head escalates and hits a pleasant pitch--and just like that she forgets how odd she's been feeling. All of these sensations are normal. Acceptable. She hasn't forgotten she was knocked out, by any means, but she no longer finds her physiological responses to his presence abnormal. ]

[ She gets her legs underneath herself and then pushes up, reaching out to use his shoulder to steady herself as she rises. Even with the layers of his shirt and coat between her fingers and his skin, she can feel how warm he is--and a very strong, almost dizzying urge to lean into him quite nearly overwhelms her. She stops, keeping her hand on him, resisting the impulse--but only just barely.

They need to get somewhere safe. Somewhere they can think. Someplace where they can be alone and comfortable, a whispered suggestion supplies--and the ever-present hum in her head makes her feel that it's an entirely ordinary thought. ]
