[Happiness swells within him as she returns his gesture and curls her finger around his. He knows this is probably a situation Pantalone was trying to avoid, in case something went wrong, but all he can feel is that this was the best move to make to raise both of their spirits and help them face down this challenge set before them both. Ajax stares down into those golden, gorgeous irises of hers, memorizing every tiny little detail about them and how pretty they look even in the darkest moment of their lives. He doesn't even think twice about what he's told her, letting the words fall from his lips in earnest, just saying what he really thinks and feels, wanting nothing more than to comfort her and support her in her time of need.
Which is why at first, he's not sure why she's gone so silent, her eyes widening in shock. He looks at her in confusion first, wondering if he'd said something wrong, and then she starts to cry again- except it's to reciprocate those feelings that he too, felt so strongly right there in his chest. It takes him a moment to realize exactly what it was that he'd confessed, realization finally reaching his eyes when he tells him that she loves him, too.
She loves me too.]
Yoimiya...
[Pantalone or anyone else who could have been in the room be damned, Childe steps forward to wrap his arms around the tiny frame of Yoimiya, pulling her into a warm embrace and holding her head against his chest. His neck cranes down enough to press his face into the crook of her neck, silent tears streaming down his cheeks, but uses her to keep them hidden as they stream down into the shirt she's wearing. It takes all of his willpower to regulate his breaths, trying not to openly sob along with her, but he can feel his heart burn and his lungs shudder as he chokes back his emotions.]
We can do it, [he whispers to her, holding her tight and letting his coat envelop them both.] I'll be right beside you the whole time, and I'll do my best, too.
[One stuttered breath escapes from him, emotions overwhelming him now that he has her in his arms, that he can feel her against his body, alive and mostly unharmed. He could of lost her, everything was almost over. But he's got her now, safe and in his arms, and he lets out one last choked statement:]
I love you so, so much, Yoimiya. I'm so happy you're okay.
